« Underfloor Heating Applications
There are numerous specialist applications where heating cable technology can offer a heating / protection / growing solution to a particular problem.
Please find examples of just a few specialist applications that Underfloor Heating (UK) can help you design solutions to below:
In cold stores where the temperature lies between -20°C and -30°C, cold will still be released to the surroundings even if the floor is well insulated. This means that materials which are in contact with the ground/soil, such as foundations or floor areas, will absorb the cold and may lead to the soil freezing. The water content in the soil can freeze and cause considerable damage due to frost erosion. The same problem can occur in ice stadiums/rinks.
In cold stores, or in conditions of extreme temperatures, doors and gates can quickly freeze shut/open, making them hard to open/shut and will subsequently lead to damage, high maintenance and higher energy consumption.
Frost, ice and snow can cause significant problems for drains during periods of regular freezing, or during periods where a large volume of snow has fallen. Drains unable to carry melt away during thaw can cause overflowing and flooding which represents a significant danger if it refreezes.
Be prepared, you may not think about it during the warm periods but large parabolic antennas, masts etc. do represent a danger to pedestrians if they have frozen. Ice falling from these and similar structures represent a big risk to pedestrians and workers who are required to remove ice and snow manually.
Whilst frost protection for pipes and tanks exposed to the elements is paramount, ensuring fluids remain at a constant or stable temperature can also be a primary concern in many industrial and agricultural applications.
During winter, concrete will not set properly in temperatures below zero. A heating application will ensure building work can continue.
In modern farming it is important that animals are kept at optimal conditions. For instance piglets must not lose body heat to their surroundings if they are to grow quickly.
In order to enhance growth and reproduction in greenhouses, the soil may be heated from early spring so the vegetation starts to grow earlier and the harvest last longer. It also assists the growth of subtropical and tropical plants which is difficult in colder climates.
We can use our applications to prolong your football or golfing season with healthier grass growing from up to two months earlier than usual.
Whether your room is industrial, commercial, agricultural or a showroom, our heating solutions help prohibit areas of uneven heat in large areas.
At Underfloor Heating (UK) we can provide you with the ideal solution to all of these problems and more besides. Provide us with your drawings and we can help you design a cost effective solution meeting your requirements and industry standards.
